U.S. Sports Film Festival

Sports fans, movie buffs, and filmmakers will make a pilgrimage to the site of one of sports’ most miraculous and everlasting upsets – Lake Placid – for the debut of the U.S. Sports Film Festival on August 14-17, 2008.
The U.S. Sports Film Festival (USSFF), the most comprehensive sports film festival in the United States, will showcase classic films including Miracle, Invincible and The Natural. The festival also will include up-and-coming filmmakers who will introduce what they hope will become the next generation of great sports films.
While a few film festivals focus on a particular genre of sport or include sports films as a component of larger festival programs, the U.S. Sports Film Festival will be exclusively dedicated to sports-related films.

New Forum Lo’s

Adidas will continue their 25-anniversary celebration of the Forum by collaborating with a new wave of stores who will shelve a limited run of sneakers this April. Self Conscious in Chicago, Shoe Gallery in Miami (pictured above), and Expressions in Boston will offer styles that set out to capture the character and diversity of each retail spot. adidas wanted to pick fairly new boutiques to team up in order to “look to the future” of the iconic Forum Lo. Shades and Records

These caught my eye on one of Turntable Labs recent newsletters. The glasses are a fun and affordable solution made by In4mation. The record player is a cool idea and has been out for ages, but beware, it may chew up one of those rare records and may not be worth the portability.
